This article addresses modeling of weakly nonlinear planar waves propagating simultaneously in different directions along the interface between two shallow layers of fluid flowing at constant velocities. Interactions of both solitary and infinite length perturbations of small but finite amplitude are calculated. It is shown that waves traveling against the current are amplified while the waves propagating in the same direction are decayed
